Some documents cannot be translated or formatted efficiently until they have been converted into editable text. Scanned PDFs, image-based files, photographs of documents and poorly structured source files often require OCR before translation or desktop publishing work can begin.
We use OCR to extract text from non-editable documents and prepare it for further processing. The extracted text is then checked, cleaned and structured so it can be translated, reviewed and formatted with fewer technical errors.
OCR quality depends on the source file. Clear scans, good contrast and readable fonts produce better results. Where the original file is damaged, blurred, low-resolution or heavily handwritten, additional manual work may be required.
